 The annual gathering of the world's foremost scientists in the field of arctic research took place at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire in 2007. In order to promote the event within the scientific community and to have a clearinghouse for agendas, travel information, accomodations, etc. the Arctic Institute at the Dickey Center for International Understanding needed a website urgently in the fall of 2006.
Working with little initial content we managed to get an initial version of the site live within weeks, then proceeded to flesh out the final product. Built on a very flexible Joomla template, the site allows involved staff update most content directly, and allows changes to quickly be made to a live site without interruption.
