 Working for the Danish publishers Aschehoug Fakta and others, I designed a series of books on subjects ranging from child rearing, wine, outer space, lizards as pets, and vacationing in Denmark.
For some publishers I simply managed the production of the Danish translation of foreign originals, for others I was given the opportunity to design the whole piece from scratch. I did a brief stint doing similar work for Reader's Digest shortly after arriving the United States in 1998. Their ridiculous pay and overly demanding deadlines made the whole thing less-than-enjoyable.
